✍️French Word of the week
Each week, I'll be introducing a new French word and providing a brief explanation of its meaning and usage. Whether you're a beginner learning French or an advanced speaker looking to expand your vocabulary, I hope these weekly doses of linguistic inspiration will help you on your language learning journey😉
And the winner of the week is… “LAISSER TOMBER”🥳
“LAISSER TOMBER” means “To dump” in English
Here's how you use it:
Ma sœur fréquentait un type très gentil, elle l'a laissé tomber sans explication.
My sister was dating a very nice guy; she dumped him without any explanation.
📚Lesson of the week
In this week's lesson, we'll be exploring the vibrant and colorful world of informal French expressions, or "argot"
Slang is an essential part of any language, and French is no exception🙂
It's used by young people and adults alike, and it can also help you sound more natural and authentic when speaking French
⚠️It's important to remember that slang is informal and should be used with caution, as it can be considered impolite or inappropriate in certain settings…
Let's learn some French slang words and phrases🚀
T'es chaud? (Are you up for it?)
Je kiffe ça. (I love it.)
C'est nul. (That sucks.)
C'est la loose. (That's a bummer.)
Je suis crevé. (I'm exhausted.)
C'est le pied. (That's awesome.)
Ça déchire. (That's cool.)
Je suis dans la merde. (I'm in trouble.)
C'est trop stylé. (That's too stylish.)
There are plenty of others! But this is more than enough for today😁
I'll add the audios to the lesson on Sunday (Btw, I'll send you the link to access all the FREE lessons😉)
